Kundalini Yogis around the world are practicing a daily meditation that will end on November 11, 2011 (11/11/11). Yogi Bhajan believed the world would make its astrological shift from the power-based “Piscean Age” to the information-based “Aquarian Age” on that day.
The meditations – a three-minute starter, then an 11-minute chant – are simple, as Gurmukh and Snatum demonstrate in detail right here. It’s easy to download the meditations so you don’t have to memorize them. Sometimes doing a meditation with someone, even if they’re on a computer, can motive us to do it every day.
Don’t worry if you didn’t start it on the first day. Start it right now and go for your own 40-days. It isn’t important when you start or end. What is important is that you take the time to practice meditating every day.
Yogi Bhajan said that the Aquarian Age will be ruled by information, awareness and energy, and that our greatest power will be our word, our consciously projected words. He predicted that the motto for the Aquarian Age is “be to be,” meaning that we can accept our wholeness and our connection to a greater existence and can express that connection through our actions. Just knowing a truth won’t be important; creating actions around that truth is what will count.
Practicing these meditations each day for 40 days can help prepare us on all levels for the changes that are to come, which Yogi Bhajan says will affect each and every one of us. You can read more about the Aquarian Age at 3HO.org.
